UP Govt Declares Zero Tolerance Against Deadly Chinese Manja
The Uttar Pradesh government has initiated an uncompromising statewide crackdown on the production, sale, storage, and transportation of Chinese manja, following strict instructions from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The Chief Minister has categorically stated that deaths caused by Chinese manja are not accidental but criminal in nature, and those involved will face severe legal consequences.

Under the new directive, authorities have been asked to dismantle the entire illegal supply chain to ensure that not a single reel of Chinese manja is available anywhere in the state.

Deaths Caused by Chinese Manja Treated as Criminal Offences

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has made it clear that incidents caused by Chinese manja will be treated with the seriousness of violent crimes. The government views such cases as preventable acts resulting from illegal trade and negligence. Officials have been instructed to pursue strict legal action against manufacturers, traders, warehouse operators, and transporters involved in the banned material.

The Chief Minister also warned that accountability will extend beyond sellers. If any incident occurs due to Chinese manja in a particular area, local police and administrative officials will also be held responsible for lapses in enforcement.

Statewide Enforcement to Eliminate Illegal Supply Networks

To ensure effective implementation, district administrations have been directed to conduct intensive inspections of wholesale markets, warehouses, transport routes, and online supply channels. Special enforcement drives will be launched to identify and eliminate illegal stockpiles.

Each district will appoint a nodal officer responsible for round-the-clock monitoring. Online marketplaces, social media groups, and informal digital platforms will be closely tracked to prevent covert sales and doorstep deliveries of Chinese manja.

Public Awareness Campaigns Target Youth and Kite Flyers

Recognizing the importance of public participation, the government is integrating awareness initiatives into the enforcement strategy. Schools and colleges will conduct educational programs to inform students and young people about the dangers and illegality of Chinese manja.

Kite sellers and market associations are being formally warned that possession or sale of the banned material will invite immediate and strict action. The administration aims to build a culture of zero tolerance, where public awareness acts as a deterrent alongside law enforcement.

A Firm Step Toward Public Safety and Accountability

The Yogi government’s decisive approach reflects its broader commitment to public safety and rule of law. By combining strict enforcement, administrative accountability, digital surveillance, and community awareness, the state aims to permanently eradicate the threat posed by Chinese manja.

The initiative sends a strong message that convenience, tradition, or profit cannot come at the cost of human lives, and that negligence will no longer be tolerated.
