Over 2.39 Lakh Minority Students Benefit from UP Scholarship Scheme
Taking a decisive step toward inclusive growth, the Uttar Pradesh government under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has reaffirmed its commitment to bringing minority students into the mainstream of education. In the financial year 2025–26, more than 2.39 lakh students from minority communities have benefited under the Minority Scholarship and Fee Reimbursement Scheme.

So far, approximately ₹71.35 crore has been disbursed to eligible students belonging to Sikh, Jain, Buddhist, and Muslim communities. The initiative aims to remove financial barriers to education and ensure that no student is forced to discontinue studies due to economic constraints. By creating equal opportunities for learning, the scheme strengthens the foundation of social justice and inclusive development in the state.

Pre-Matric Scholarships Supporting School Education

At the school level, the government has focused on encouraging continuity in education for minority students studying in Classes 9 and 10. Under the pre-matric scholarship component, 1,09,084 students received financial assistance during 2025–26.

A budget allocation of ₹37.20 crore was made for this category. In multiple phases, funds were distributed directly to students, ensuring transparency and timely support. This sustained assistance has played a crucial role in reducing dropout rates and motivating students to complete secondary education, particularly among economically vulnerable families.

Post-Matric Scholarships Expanding Higher and Technical Education Access

For students pursuing higher secondary, technical, and professional education, the post-matric scholarship scheme has emerged as a major enabler. During the current financial year, 1,30,265 minority students studying in Class 11, Class 12, and various professional courses have received scholarships.

Through phased disbursement, nearly ₹39.16 crore has already been transferred. This support empowers students to pursue skill-based and career-oriented education, preparing them for employment and entrepreneurship while strengthening the skilled workforce of the state.

Education as a Tool for Empowerment and State Development

Aligned with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision, the Uttar Pradesh government views education as the strongest pillar of social and economic empowerment. By ensuring financial assistance to deserving minority students, the government is not only improving access to education but also fostering self-reliance and long-term participation in the state’s development journey.

The initiative reflects the spirit of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas”, ensuring that growth is inclusive and no community is left behind. Beyond financial relief, the scheme contributes to social harmony, educational equity, and a more resilient future for Uttar Pradesh.
