Remember March 2025? When OpenAI quietly rolled out an image generation to all free users and immediately unleashed chaos on the internet? With the rollout of the ChatGPT caricature trend, something similar is happening on social media currently. First, it was Studio Ghibli-style portraits that melted down timelines and lagged servers, and for a few weeks in early 2025, the internet collectively decided that we all belonged in an animated movie.

Now? The spotlight has shifted, and the latest obsession is ChatGPT caricatures. They are everywhere, on Instagram stories, TikTok videos, Reddit threads and even on Facebook. And most of them come from one deceptively simple prompt, "Create a caricature of me based on everything you know about me."

Why is everyone obsessed?

Caricature hit the sweet spot. They don't try to be hyper-realistic; they are about vibes. The results feel personal, flattering and instantly shareable, which is exactly why the trend keeps spreading.

According to Mashable, somewhere between hilarious and mildly cursed, this trend is still going strong. Well, if you want to try this, you need to upload a photo of your pet and ask ChatGPT to image them as a human. You can customise everything: clothes, vibe, facial expression and even the background.
