Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized that true development goes beyond infrastructure and must protect culture, values, and spirituality. Inaugurating a new inter college building in Pauri Garhwal, he called for education that builds skills, character, and self-reliant communities.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, during his visit to Uttarakhand, inaugurated the newly constructed building of an inter college at Yamkeshwar in Pauri Garhwal. Addressing students, teachers, and community members, he underlined that material growth alone cannot define progress. According to him, development becomes meaningful only when it moves forward while safeguarding civilization, culture, and spiritual values.
Education MustShape Character , Not Just Careers
The Chief Minister stressed that schools should evolve beyond being centers of textbook learning. Educational institutions, he said, must nurture values, practical skills, and a strong moral foundation. Drawing inspiration from India’s ancient Gurukul tradition, he highlighted how earlier education systems prepared students for life by combining academics with agriculture, healthcare knowledge, and vocational skills. Such holistic learning ensured self-confidence and resilience in every circumstance.
He also noted that success in life depends on positive thinking, hard work, and perseverance. Negativity, he warned, weakens individuals and societies alike.
StrengtheningRural Education Infrastructure a Key Priority
Highlighting the government’s commitment, CM Yogi said the newly inaugurated college building is now dedicated to students and teachers, with furniture and essential facilities to be provided soon. He emphasized that the double-engine government is focused on developing modern education and healthcare infrastructure in rural areas so that students do not feel compelled to migrate to cities.
As Uttarakhand enters its silver jubilee year, he said this phase should mark balanced progress—where physical development goes hand in hand with cultural and spiritual preservation.
Connectivity, Opportunity, and Responsibility
Reflecting on the region’s transformation, the Chief Minister recalled that when the college was established in 1965, basic amenities like roads, electricity, and connectivity were absent. Today, villages are connected through improved infrastructure, and sacred sites like Yamkeshwar Mahadev are accessible through modern transport networks.
He added that while the government provides facilities, teachers must ensure quality education and students must remain dedicated to learning. Schools, he said, should serve as pillars of culture, discipline, and social responsibility.
RevivingSelf-Reliant Villages Through Education and Skills
Calling Uttarakhand a land of divine heritage, CM Yogi highlighted the contribution of its youth in national defense and nation-building. He stressed that villages are the roots of Indian civilization, and preventing migration requires turning them into centers of education, innovation, research, and self-reliance.
He encouraged the use of school infrastructure for competitive exam preparation and skill development, citing models like Abhyudaya Coaching that support rural and economically weaker students through digital and physical learning platforms. Linking education with tourism, agriculture, horticulture, and local resources, he said, would create sustainable livelihoods and inspire community-led development.
Conclusion
The Chief Minister concluded that educational institutions must become centers of inspiration and transformation. Any positive initiative emerging from schools, he said, strengthens society and shapes a stronger, culturally rooted, and self-reliant India.
